Visiting Students/Non-Degree/Seniors

Undergraduate Visiting Students/Non-Degree/Seniors

What is Visiting Student/Non-Degree/Senior?

All three categories of undergraduate non-degree (non-matriculated) students - this includes general, visiting, and senior citizen non-degree students - are individuals taking courses for college credit, but not pursuing a baccaulareate degree at City College, or - in the case of senior citizens (Seniors) - auditing courses for personal enrichment and neither seeking a baccaulareate degree nor college credit.

As a Visiting Student/Non-Degree/Senior student at City College:

  • You may not take more than 24 credits overall in this status.
  • You may need departmental approval for your desired course(s).
  • You will be among the last group to register, as priority is given to degree-seeking students.
  • Your course registration is on a space available basis, and therefore not guaranteed.
  • You may not apply any financial aid towards your tuition.

Who can apply as a Visiting Student/Non-Degree/Senior?

  • Visiting Students from non-CUNY campuses who are in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, and have the permission of their college or university.
  • Students who attended a college or university previously, but are not currently enrolled, and are in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
